Six of Crows – Leigh Bardugo

A teen fiction duology starting in the gritty streets of Ketterdam, inspired by historical Amsterdam, we get an insight into the gangs and young criminal genius.  It starts off with a bang and keeps you pulled in. I. LOVE. HEISTS. Yet, it’s so hard to find one that’s done well, not just action but also character development and world-building. This manages. I pulled an all-nighter enjoying the ruthless acts, the witty dialogue, the drugs and magic, the stealth and the high stakes. It is incredible.

This book is not only fun and gritty but also extremely good at tackling serious issues in a realistic manner, including dealing with trauma and violence. The diverse cast and interesting universe are equally enthralling. Get ready for the adrenalin!
